I have had many concerned parents e-mail me regarding the upcoming movie, The Golden Compass. It is scheduled to be released in theaters December 7th. I decided to do some research. It's interesting what I found. On Snopes.com it was stated as true that the writer, Philip Pullman was interviewed by The Sydney Morning Herald and stated "My books are about killing God." After reading the very thorough article I came up with an easy conslusion. This is NOT a movie I would endorse. In fact you won't find my family wasting time or money waiting in line at the theaters for this one. I have received numerous emails about this movie and have also decided to not see it! There is a movie coming out the same day that seems worthy (although not really for kids, more for us adults) - it's called "Noelle" and you can check it out by going to
www.8x.com. I want to support and promote it as there are so few films of faith these days!!Blessings!!
Hi Staci, I was talking to one of the elders about this, and she said that if you go to the movie's web site that there is a section there where people can have a demon assigned to them! I haven't personally gone there, but the elder had, and said it was awful. Just FYI
